The first vegan butcher and delicatessen in Barcelona, Farmers Veggie Butchers, opens its doors with a 100% artisan offer without additives or preservatives.

Just a few days ago we welcomed Farmers Veggie Butchers, the first vegan butcher and delicatessen in Barcelona located in the heart of Gràcia, situated at number 16 Carrer de l'Or (corner with Calle Verdi).

Many Gràcia residents have been surprised to see, not inside but through the shop window the figure of a pig observing the counter, since there is no animal suffering here.

Truth is, that there are many vegan shops in Barcelona but Farmers Veggie Butchers’ proposal is, without wanting to imitate the flavor of meat or use additives, preservatives, colorants or coagulants or processed; to offer products only cooked by themselves in an artisanal way with legumes, vegetables, flour mixtures, broths, spices, oats, chia, hazelnuts, sesame and a lot of dedication and a firm nutritional base.

Thus, among the extensive offer of cheeses "charcuterie" and vegan meats available in the shop window, the specialty they most recommend is the beet burger made with a mixture of flours, natural beet juice and a secret mixture of spices. And they also speak wonders of their vegan "sobrasada", made from dried tomato, tofy and rice flour.

As its four creators say - whom by the way none of them is neither vegan nor vegetarian -; the goal of creating Farmers Veggie Butchers has been, from the very beginning, that anyone who’s not vegan can try new things, learn new cooking options and see that it is possible to eat well without the need to eat meat.
