Discover the new café-restaurant and place-to-be in the upper area of Barcelona

The end of summer and the return to reality is now more bearable than ever since Chandigarh Café opened in Barcelona. A café-restaurant located in the Pedralbes neighborhood in a house-garden from the 1950s, which has become the new place-to-be in the upper area of the city.

Far from serving international and exotic dishes, Chandigarh Café menu focuses on Mediterranean recipes with a clear weakness for France and seasonal products. The French chef Hervé Escobar has been in charge of giving names and surnames to all these savory and sweet dishes, designed to be enjoyed in a unique space in Barcelona.

Its secret is to work on a short and markedly healthy menu, with a twist that results in a set of delicious dishes, such as: the field terrine, the baked aubergine with sanfaina (baked vegetables) and yogurt, the duck confit, the hake Colbert perfectly breaded with panko and accompanied with tartar sauce or wood-fired pizzas.

And for dessert? You cannot leave the place without trying some of its sweet delicacies, such as: the Eton mess, which is a crunchy meringue with strawberries from Maresme and olive oil, the 70% Cuban chocolate mousse with salted caramel, or its famous floating island with English cream and toasted almonds. So yummy!

Feeling hundreds of miles away, Chandigarh Café's leafy garden offers a wonderful escape from the hustle and bustle of Barcelona, while its interior oozes equal parts color and good taste with an unmistakable 50s flair. An enveloping proposal with a special savoir faire and a new oasis to relax on top of the city.

“Chandigarh Café is inspired by the idea that Le Corbussier had when he designed the Indian city of Chandigarh in the fifties, built for people to live with simplicity and joy.”

Address: Avenida Esplugues, 105 (Barcelona). Hours: Wednesday to Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Average price: 30 euros.
