Discover everything you can do this autumn in Barcelona.

Barcelona is known for its good climate, architecture, its variety of restaurants, its leisure, the sea... But since we all like to be surprised and discover new things, today I bring you lots of interesting activities to enjoy autumn in the catalan city.

Viu Montjuïc

This weekend, from October 16 and 17, the Montjuïc Park will celebrate the Viu Montjüic event that will host more than 70 free activities such as: concerts, dance, theater, track games, exhibitions, guided visits, participatory interventions plus free access to the 22 facilities of the park. This new project celebrates its first edition starting tomorrow and aims to be done once a year to give visibility to the cultural activity of the city of Barcelona and, more specifically, to the marvellous Montjuïc park.

Play Now BCN

Just a few weeks ago, more specifically on September 27, 2021, the well-known American brand Nike inaugurated Play Now BCN, as a free space open to all audiences to invite us to dance, skate or train located in the Forum Park area. This new sports space, which has a capacity for more than 250 people, will be open from Monday to Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on weekends and holidays. Thanks to the union of Nike with different local communities of Barcelona such as Streetball Barcelona Sants, Street Football x Barcelona, Skate Agora and the dance schools La Tribu Urbana and the Urban Dance Factory, constant experiences and activites will take place to redefine the sport in the city. The objective of these installations, presided over by a huge mural that pays tribute to the Catalan singer Rosalía, is none other than to rediscover sport through games and fun. In addition, Nike is offering transportation from its Nike Barcelona store located on Paseo de Gracia to the Play Now BCN, in order to facilitate access to the space and encourage locals and tourists to enjoy sport in a different way.

Open House BCN

And now it is the turn of the 12th edition of the 48h Open House BCN Architecture Festival, which will take place on the weekend of October 23th and 24th. The festival will offer free visits to 227 buildings (76 new and 151 that repeat from other years), more than 275 activities, 27 guided itineraries and 21 free itineraries. In addition, this year the entire festival theme it is about Mediterranean architecture, with the aim of understanding our architectural past in order to design a better and more sustainable future. Most buildings can be visited without an appointment (except less than a 9% of them that require an appointment to visit them and can be reserved from October 19 through the Open House BCN website).

In-Edit Barcelona

With 18 editions behind, In-Edit Barcelona is already the most successful festival specialized in musical documentary film in the world and the film festival with the largest audience (35,000 spectators) in the city. Characterized as a unique festival that brings together the best of the audiovisual and musical sectors in the same meeting point, over the years it has achieved its own identity and its own label. This year, and after a strictly online edition through the inedit.tv platform created by the effects of the pandemic, the In-Edit festival 2021 returns live from October 28th to November 7th at the Aribau Multicines. See you there!

Bar Yeti

And to commemorate this autumn month, now I bring you a proposal to stimulate your palate, thanks to the reborn Yeti Bar (still located in Plaza Bonanova 6), now in charge of its prestigious neighboring Bonanova Restaurant. On this new chapter of the Bar Yeti you will find delicious starters such as tuna with tomato, cod liver, the Yeti bravas, the stew croquettes, Joselito grilled dishes or the calamari sandwich. And also second dishes such as the house meatballs, the mini white beans with fried egg and squid among many more specialties that change according to the season like the fresh red tuna carpaccio with mango sauce, the fried piparras... And so on and beyond!

I will finish this article with a sentence from the Colombian writer and journalist Gabriel García Márquez, who once said that “Barcelona was the door to Europe” and certainly this fall we have plenty of excuses to enjoy the Catalan city.
