Barcelona is a city where you can make many plans for free. Here are some of the best…

This time I propose you 5 great plans to do in Barcelona that are not only for free, but also have all the necessary ingredients to have fun and have a good time alone or accompanied and suitable for all publics.

1. The Gardens of Mossèn Costa Llobera

Dedicated to the Majorcan poet Miquel Costa i Llobera and with a size of six hectares, the Mossèn Costa Llobera Gardens (popularly known as the Cactario of Barcelona), was inaugurated in Barcelona in 1970. Today it is one of the most important gardens specialized in cactus and succulent plants in all of Europe. The entrance to visit the gardens is for free. It is open from 10 in the morning until 9 pm and once you’re in, you will have the feeling of being in a microclimate since they have between two and three degrees higher than the rest of the city, that creates the perfect temperature for this type of vegetation.

2. Macba, CCCB, MUHBA and MNAC museums

Every first Sunday of the month some of the best museums in Barcelona such as the Macba (Museum of Contemporary Art of Barcelona), the CCCB (Centre of Contemporary Culture of Barcelona), the MUHBA (Museum of History of Barcelona), or the MNAC ( National Museum of Catalonia) open its doors free of charge. Undoubtedly, a great opportunity to culturalize ourselves while we enjoy fixed and temporary exhibitions and works by some of the best national and international artists.

3. Flea Market Barcelona

Barcelona offers a wide variety of free access markets throughout the year and among the most famous is Flea Market Barcelona. This well-known monthly market is the ideal place for all those who like to sell and exchange vintage and second-hand clothing and accessories, handicrafts, books and music in good condition at reasonable prices. Founded in 2007, Flea Market Barcelona has a philosophy that since its inception has been and always will be "one man's garbage is another man's gold". With this idea, they not only promote the long-awaited circular economy, but also give products a longer life, and by not throwing things away, we reduce waste and excessive consumption associated with the street.
